Hi, I'm Sherrill Covington. I'm a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor. My educational background includes a MA in counseling from Webster University and an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of NC at Wilmington. I chose the mental health career because I have a strong desire and commitment to helping others better their lives. I enjoy cultivating the growth and development of individuals through psych-education and theory-based approaches and interventions. As a Licensed clinical Mental Health Counselor, I see therapy as a therapeutic alliance, where we work together to break barriers, resolve issues, develop coping skills and manage life stressors through authenticity, trust and transparency. My approach is to teach you how to deal with your problems in a more positive manner and to help you change your self-destructive thinking patterns through various types of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy.
