Shimyne Homidas
Hi! My name is Shimyne Homidas. I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and a Bilingual Therapist (Haitian-Creole) with over 13 years of experience in the Social Work field. I served survivors of domestic violence, individuals in crisis, veterans, divorcing individuals, foster care children/families, and more. I advocate, educate, guide, and counsel clients on the importance of mental health, building healthy coping habits, and redefining their individuality as they transition. I specialize in working with women, children, & adolescents to address anxiety, depression & other related mental illnesses. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, and more to help you identify, reflect, and process the barriers you feel may be keeping you from embracing or understanding where you are in your life. Transitions can be difficult. Whether a life transition is planned or happens unexpectedly, it can be painful, confusing, and frustrating. It can leave you feeling hopeless, anxious, and lost, leading to unhealthy coping habits. In my practice, I offer a safe and non-judgmental space for you to process your thoughts and feelings. My goal is to meet you where you are right now and help guide you through your transition.
