Stephanie Pardon
I graduated with honors and an M.A. in Marriage and Family Studies with emphasis in Play Therapy from Southern Nazarene University. I have worked at multiple agencies that specialize in treating abuse of all kinds. I am also passionate about the successes found through EMDR used in all age groups. EMDR is an evidence based, highly researched therapeutic model that briefly exposes Clients to work through trauma, PTSD, depression, anxiety, grief, and other mental health challenges. I highly value the belief that each person is created with a unique personality and calling and that no pain is without purpose. Parakletos is the Greek word for advocate and that is what my ambition is to be in my role as a counselor. It is my hope you will find my warm style, humor, and love for others creates an environment of healing and hope. I have concentrated on working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a history of abuse and neglect. Some of the clients I have worked with have struggled with trauma, PTSD, ADHD, behavioral issues, anxiety, anger, and other relational problems. It is important to provide individual or family mental health resolutions that meet the specific needs of each situation. Typical goals include effective identification and communication of feelings, providing coping skills where needed and processing thoughts and feelings to better understand cognitive distortions.
