Hello, I'm Sue, a Master's level social worker with over 15 years of experience as a licensed independent social worker. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working in diverse settings such as crisis response, structured outpatient programs, large nonprofit hospitals, and hospice care. I've also enjoyed teaching social work and related courses at Lakeland Community College and Ursuline College, and providing clinical and administrative supervision to social work students, interns, and professionals.
My broad range of clinical experience includes working with individuals and groups across the lifespan in areas such as depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, self-harm behavior, complicated grief reactions, child loss, anger and stress management, trauma and abuse, suicide assessment and risk reduction, chronic mental illness, self-image and self-esteem issues, addiction, and dual diagnosis.
I believe in a holistic, strength-based, person-centered approach to therapy. This means that I see you as a whole person, not just a set of symptoms. I draw from a variety of recognized therapeutic modalities, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Psychoeducation, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, and relaxation techniques. My goal is to help you harness your strengths and develop new skills to navigate life's challenges.
Working with me, you can expect a supportive and non-judgmental space where we can explore your thoughts and feelings together. I am here to listen, to understand, and to help you find the path to healing and growth that feels right for you. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, or navigating a life transition, I am committed to supporting you every step of the way.
Outside of my professional life, I value the importance of balance and self-care. I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring nature, and practicing mindfulness. These activities help me stay grounded and bring my best self to our sessions.
If you're ready to take the next step on your journey towards well-being, I invite you to reach out. Let's work together to create a brighter, more fulfilling future.
