Welcome to Theresa M. Swanson, LCSW therapeutic counseling services. Education experience: Bachelor of Arts Degree from Dominican University in 2004, and a Master of Social Work Degree from Washburn University in 2011. Professional experience; Early Childhood Education, School Social Work, Victim Advocacy with the U.S. Army, and private practice serving couples and individuals five-years-old to adulthood. I meet clients where they are, we start with initial goals and work from there. I love teaching clients about the connection between brain and body and the overall impact on emotions and well-being. Areas of specialization are; anxiety, depression, trauma, education related difficulties, child development, couples, and military connected populations. Clients can expect to heard and felt during our time working together. Typically clients will have coping strategies or exercises to work on in between sessions.

The care options presented consist of treatment providers that we have assessed to be quality providers across a range of services for mental health, substance use, relationships, and other well-being needs. We aim to include only high quality providers and multiple viable options for those seeking care.

To make our site free for consumers, providers on Psych Hub pay fees to connect with potential clients who are a fit for their services. How do we determine which ones to display?

Rather than make specific provider recommendations, we present options and information so you can make an informed decision on what provider best fits your needs. Where we have multiple participating providers, we present multiple options (and where we don't, we prioritize adding more options to our site over time). We present providers whose capabilities, insurance coverage, availability and other attributes best match your stated needs. If many providers appear to equally meet your needs, we display a selection of them at random. Our decision on which participating providers to display is never impacted by the amount of fees we receive from them.

What is the relationship between Psych Hub and these providers?

The providers listed on our site are all independent entities from Psych Hub. We have a contractual relationship with each provider that governs the terms of their participation on the site, and in some cases, as mentioned above, their use of Psych Hub's educational content. What causes us to remove providers from our site?

We require that providers meet all licensing requirements of states where they offer services. If a provider loses their license, they are removed from our site for that state or service. We also seek feedback from users on providers they find on our site. We investigate significant negative feedback and remove providers if we conclude that to be appropriate.
