I specialize in the treatment of personality disorders such as borderline personality disorder & Obsessive–compulsive personality disorder (OCPD). My treatment approach draws largely from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT). However, treatment is tailored to each person's needs. Using the CBT model, we can target specific areas of concern and equip you with the tools you need to find relief. CBT is an evidence-based modality that looks at how emotions, behaviors and thoughts are interrelated. CBT is much more than sitting and talking about whatever comes to mind during a session. CBT sessions are structured to ensure that the therapist and the person in treatment are focused on the different goals of each session. Whereas, DBT is a modality that is used to address deep and intense emotions. DBT equips you with coping skills in interpersonal effectiveness, mindfulness, distress tolerance and emotional regulation. DBT works with individuals to help them find ways to manage their negative emotions so they can feel balanced, in control and able to interact respectfully and successfully.
