Victoria Harms
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Colorado, I have been providing mental health counseling to adolescents and adults for over five years. I work with clients via telehealth and in person, using a variety of evidence-based and creative interventions to address their needs and goals. One of my specialties is equine-assisted therapy, which involves interacting with horses in a therapeutic setting. I have a certificate in Equine-Assisted Mental Health from the University of Denver, and I operate out of a private horse property. I believe that equine interactions can enhance the mind-body connection, foster self-awareness, and promote healing and growth. I am passionate about helping clients explore their thoughts, feelings, and worries without judgment, and empowering them to achieve their full potential. Please note I do not have a traditional indoor office at this time. Equine interactions in therapy enable you to work towards your goals in a unique setting while receiving the same clinical treatment you would in-office or online. This non-traditional setting enables me to offer therapy sessions outdoors in nature, as well as the ability to incorporate movement as needed. Equine interactions in therapy allow healing to take place in a natural setting and in the company of another relational being. Horses enhance the therapeutic experience by providing motivation for treatment, modeling behaviors, and emotional expression. Previous horse experience is not required.
