Benjamin Morrow
Hi, I'm Ben! I use he/him/his pronouns, and identify as a white-bodied, straight-ish, neurotypical, cisgender man in long-term recovery from a substance use disorder. My direct experiences with mental health systems and professionals are what led me to become a therapist. My overall approach to therapy is client-centered and collaborative. I earned my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling with a focus in Contemplative Psychotherapy from Naropa University. Developing a secure, unique, and supportive therapeutic relationship is at the core of my practice. I am trained in Contemplative Psychotherapy (a mindfulness-based approach) and EMDR. My therapeutic work is also informed by an array of cognitive, somatic, and relational modalities. I have worked in community mental health, short-term trauma processing, transitional programs, and IOP settings. I have experience working with clients with a wide range of presenting concerns. I offer an environment of warmth, curiosity, compassion, and attentive presence. I tailor sessions to the needs and goals of each individual client. Mine is not a one-size-fits-all orientation to therapy; I strive to work collaboratively throughout the process, inviting and implementing feedback along the way.
