Jorge Saavedra
An experienced, bilingual (English/Spanish) clinical psychologist, Chile born, California educated, I keep a private practice in the Bay Area since 2006. I offer flexible therapy to meet the needs of families and adults. I have worked as a psychologist in many organizations, such as Google; Kaiser Permanente; YouTube; Children’s Hospital Oakland; and the Child & Adolescent Services of New Zealand. I teach graduate level psychology and provide professional trainings, locally and internationally. In my private practice, I offer therapy services to 1) families & 2) adults. 1) With families, we use evidence-based therapies collaboratively to work promptly through barriers to the healthy development and wellbeing of their children. I strive to include and empower parents in the therapy process. 2) With adults, we focus on dissolving emotional barriers, and recovering purpose and strength, using a variety of approaches according to each client’s specific preferences, needs and circumstances. A sense of connection, empowerment and renewed vitality. Children will develop skills to work through difficult emotions and social experiences. Parents will learn how to maintain a secure, strong bond with their children and know how to support them through the challenges of growth into adulthood. Adults will feel empowered as they regain a sense of purpose, improve relationships and the ability to dissolve and manage difficult thoughts and feelings in various life stages/circumstances.
