Sallie Mack
I received my PhD in Clinical/Counseling Psychology at Utah State University. I completed my APA-accredited pre-doctoral internship at the Atlanta VA Medical Center and my post-doctoral residency with Emory University School of Medicine. My clinical focus includes emotion dysregulation, trauma and adversity (PTSD, relational trauma, childhood trauma, discrimination, etc), relationship issues, identity exploration or concerns, depression, anxiety, grief, life changes, and existential concerns. I view therapy as a collaborative process, one that is rooted first and foremost in the therapeutic relationship. Thus, I prioritize building genuine relationships with clients where they can feel safe to be their most vulnerable and authentic selves. My therapeutic style includes multiple theoretical approaches: cognitive-behavioral treatments (DBT, ACT), person-centered therapy, attachment theory, multicultural theory, and interpersonal process theory. Goals I work with clients on include: emotion regulation, insight and self-reflection, boundary-setting, effective communication, and values-aligned actions/sense of meaning in one's life.
